Privacy Policy for the SpoolManager App

1. Introduction and scope

The SpoolManager app lets you manage 3D printer filament spools using NFC tags. This privacy policy explains how data is processed.

No personal data is collected, transmitted, or shared with third parties. The app only processes non-personal technical data about 3D printer filament spools (manufacturer, color, material, spool weight).

Scope: This policy applies to all users of the app from 18 April 2026.

2. Data collected and processed

The app processes only non-personal data about filament spools:

NFC data: The app reads and writes this data locally to compatible NFC tags using the iOS Core NFC API. This data is not transmitted to servers or third parties.

3. Local storage on the device

Location: Local app container (optional app group for widgets)
Format: JSON files in the application data area
Access: Only the app itself can access this data
Security: iOS app sandbox
Deletion: Uninstalling the app permanently deletes all data.

4. iCloud sync (optional)

The app offers optional iCloud sync to sync between devices (off by default):

What is synced: Filament spool database
Enabling: Only by the user in app settings
Access: Only the app on devices signed in with the same Apple ID
Encryption: End-to-end via Apple iCloud
Disabling: In app settings or iOS Settings → [App] → iCloud

Note: iCloud sync is for switching devices and only processes non-personal filament spool data.

5. No transfer of data to third parties

No data is sent to third parties (servers, analytics, advertising):

❌ No tracking (Firebase Analytics, AppsFlyer)
❌ No crash reports (Crashlytics)
❌ No push messaging (APNs)
✅ Optional iCloud sync (Apple iCloud only, end-to-end encrypted)
❌ No other cloud sync services
❌ No App Store analytics

NFC: Works fully offline via iOS Core NFC.

6. App Store Connect and Apple services

For app distribution, standard Apple metadata is processed:

8. Changes to this privacy policy

Changes to this policy are published with a new app version. Material changes may be announced via push notification (optional).
